APPLICATION ESSENTIALS

DEADLINE:

January 15th for full consideration for funding for the following fall.

To Apply:

1. Fill out and submit an online application and make the application fee payment. (There is a downloadable PDF version of the Graduate Application form, if you encounter problems with the on-line process.)

2. Send an e-mail note to the Graduate Coordinator of the philosophy program after completing step 1 to notify the department that you have done so.

3. Have (i) official GRE test scores, (ii) official transcripts and, (iii) if you are an international student from a country for which English is not an official language, official TOEFL, IELTS, or MELAB test scores, sent to

4. Send a (i) statement of purpose, (ii) writing sample in philosophy (a class essay, for example), (iii) three letters of recommendation (see form), (iv) copies of your transcripts, GRE scores, and, if required, (v) your TOEFL, IELTS, or MELAB score, and (vi) a fellowship/assistantship application form to

You may put down a Teaching Assistantship and Tuition Waiver as a source of funds, anticipating a successful application. Contact Virginia Dampier <vdampier> for information about the amount for the current year, and for help with the form.
